I guess that depends on what strategy he uses. I have no doubt HMS has the equipment, he, JJ and Kyle have proven that all season long. #24 has never been in the winner's circle at TMS, however, and he could be racing just to keep in the top ten. He'll still have 2 more races to procure the points necessary to win the cup.
I think how he races is mostly going to be dependent on how JJ races. I don't think at this point he's worried about Bowyer or the others who are not mathematically eliminated yet, but if he has to use a "mulligan" because of a wreck or a mechanical failureand JJ finishes in the top ten, it could really hurt his chances of winning the cup.

The chances for is first win at Texas are better this year than any other.Gordon and the rest of the Hendrick racing teams are very strong and could prove to be the winners this weekend.
So yes this could well be Gordons race to lose.So he could well be in victory lane Sunday.

Definitely. I think that since he is starting second that he can avoid all the wrecks and unless something happens to his engine or he has other issues then he is more then likely going to be upfront all day, and he has a great chance to win the race if he keeps up with the changes to his racecar and its handling well at the end.

If he doesn't, he won't have the Chase lead after the race. But RCR may have something to say - at least on Sunday - to what has become the Hendrick duel (dual) for the championship. Look for Gordon and Jonson to notch top five finishes, but Burton and Bowyer to battle for the winner's circle in the closing laps.

...Sorry but Gordon is going to crash (DNF) and Jimmy will take the points lead with Jr or Truex winning the race.

in the experience that your drained drink a cup of espresso, or take some 5hour power and watch Kyle Busch win this night at Atlanta in the sprint Cup sequence. My son says Kyle Busch is the bestest driving force in NASCAR and that he is going to win!
