Life is having to deal with all kinds of scenarios and events which would include traditions, belief and culture. If you want to have a textbook definition of life , here it is:

from wiki,

There is no universal definition of life; there are a variety of definitions proposed by different scientists. To define life in unequivocal terms is still a challenge for scientists.

Conventional definition: Often scientists say that life is a characteristic of organisms that exhibit the following phenomena:

1. Homeostasis: Regulation of the internal environment to maintain a constant state; for example, sweating to reduce temperature.
2. Organization: Being composed of one or more cells, which are the basic units of life.
3. Metabolism: Consumption of energy by converting nonliving material into cellular components (anabolism) and decomposing organic matter (catabolism). Living things require energy to maintain internal organization (homeostasis) and to produce the other phenomena associated with life.
4. Growth: Maintenance of a higher rate of synthesis than catalysis. A growing organism increases in size in all of its parts, rather than simply accumulating matter. The particular species begins to multiply and expand as the evolution continues to flourish.
5. Adaptation: The ability to change over a period of time in response to the environment. This ability is fundamental to the process of evolution and is determined by the organism's heredity as well as the composition of metabolized substances, and external factors present.
6. Response to stimuli: A response can take many forms, from the contraction of a unicellular organism when touched to complex reactions involving all the senses of higher animals. A response is often expressed by motion, for example, the leaves of a plant turning toward the sun or an animal chasing its prey.
7. Reproduction: The ability to produce new organisms. Reproduction can be the division of one cell to form two new cells. Usually the term is applied to the production of a new individual (either asexually, from a single parent organism, or sexually, from at least two differing parent organisms), although strictly speaking it also describes the production of new cells in the process of growth.

Well, people tend to ask the question of what is meaning of life if psychologically and physiolocically problems arises and seems things that are happening cant be understood or runs in contrarary to what is taught or having told. We just have to think back and have some time with close friends and relatives and tak about. Let be resilient to what is happening around us......

Hope this one helps.

Ahhhhh! the eternal question. Everyone searches for some meaning to their life but more often that not, they never find any. However, I truly believe that everyone has a task to complete here on earth before they die which is vital to the evolution of the human race. Some people will understand their roles and work hard to make a positive contribution before they die, even if that role is to raise children who will be enlightened enough to do that for them etc. Others will never really understand it but nevertheless the task will be completed. I don't think we will ever understand the reason, but we should always search and ask because this is the key to faith and the spiritual and social development of the human race.

The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything has a numeric solution. The Ultimate Question is requested from the computer named Deep Thought - specially built for this purpose. It takes Deep Thought 7½ million years to compute and check the answer which turns out to be "42". When asked to provide The Ultimate Question, the computer says that it can't, but can help design an even more powerful computer which can. The programmers then embark on a further, ultimately futile, ten million year program to discover The Ultimate Question

We can go thru an entire lifetime searching for the meaning of life. Everyone can have a different answer. You need to find out why you are here. What is your mission? Find a church that you feel comfortable in. A church is a community made of faith, friends and family. Take a walk in the woods and feel nature "talk" to you. Find your own talent and do something with it... share it. Make your mark on the world, so that people will remember you. Life is how you make it... laugh, love, and learn from the lows.

10:24. Verily, the likeness of (this) worldly life is as the water (rain) which We send down from the sky; so by it arises the intermingled produce of the earth of which men and cattle eat: until when the earth is clad in its adornments and is beautified, and its people think that they have all the powers of disposal over it, Our Command reaches it by night or by day and We make it like a clean-mown harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday! Thus do We explain the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, laws, etc.) in detail for the people who reflect.

There is no real answer to your question. I think as long as you live a life that you are proud of and do what you want to do, then you've done what you're supposed to do. Some people think everyone has a purpose, but I don't necessarily believe that. I think just doing what you want to do and having fun doing it is enough to give your life meaning. Of course, that's considering you're not bringing harm to others in the meantime.

All the little things in life matter the most. It's when you get home from work and you know your family is going to be there waiting for you and stuff like that.
