What an idiot grey doc is, mental health issues aren't a reason to end a relationship, you wouldn't get your partner tested if their family has a history of cancer, you'd support them if they ever did get it, which no one can tell!!!

Alot of disorders aren't hereditary and if you love someone that should be the reason why you want to live with them, if you don't love them then don't etc, not because of health issues with their family.

Take some time dating and getting to know your bf. Get to know his family to see how they function in life. Decide if this is a family you can commit to. Make a determination on if you think your bf would be a good father. Look at his father. Are they a normal functioning family. The beauty of dating is that you take your time to know someone before you make a lifelong commitment. Be optimistically cautious. Best to you.

It is unfortunately a yellow flag. Don't go further into the relationship unless you know what you are getting into. If you decide to live together, you and your BF should consult a genetic counselor before you have children.
