Yes it does. Some people might not admit that they fart but it's something everyone does and each day we produce about 500ml (1 pint) of fart gas. Most of this is nitrogen, an inert gas that makes up the bulk of the atmosphere.
About 10% of a fart is methane and this is one of the greenhouse gases, it's 23 times as powerful as carbon dioxide. It works out that the farts each of us produce in a year make the same contribution to global warming as if we each drove approx 300 miles a year.
Now for the math bit: There's 6.6 billion people on the planet, each farting 500ml of gas a day, that's about 1.2 trillion litres of fart gas each year. One tenth of this is methane and in terms of cubic metres of methane it's 120 million m³. Methane has a mass of 677g/m³; each year the human race farts 82 million tons of methane gas.
And the science bit: Methane is 23 times as potent as carbon dioxide, specifically it has a 100 year global warming potential (or GWP) of 23. That 82 million tons of methane gas causes as much warming as 1.9 billion tons of carbon dioxide (82 x 23).

one of the main gases released is methane which does contribute to global warming. due to the amount of cows raised in thee world, huge amounts of methane are released by these animals (in some instances more than the cars and pollution of some countries).
