I mean miracles in the daze of yore were BIG. Parting seas, giant global floods, and what not is amazing... now a daze though we get deities on toast?

So really, dont you feel just a bit ripped off?

Interesting question. I think it would have been absolutely glorious to see the seas parting. But even if you think about those two events, they happened hundreds of years apart - so most people who lived during the days of yore didn't see them (and of course in the case of the flood very few lived to tell about it).

Miracles do happen today - I haven't heard of anyone parting the seas lately - but I have witnessed a few medical miracles that have been truly amazing. I feel really privileged and honored to have been able to see those - so no I don't feel ripped off.

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

Insha'Allah, my day is always filled with "miracles".

I see the sun and marvel at the construction of the same. Although I have some understanding as its workings and even as to its formation (i.e., I have a degree in physics, among other degrees I hold) I know that I did not originate it, nor the other stars, planets, galaxies, black holes, moons, etc. and I find myslef amazed by the miracle of their creation (regardless of how the same took place) from the "nothingness" prior to the big bang up to the present as it is given to us by Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala.

My daughter is now seven years and two days old as of this writing and as I am privileged to watch her grow, I see the miracle of the same daily. Alhumdulillah!

Presently, I am breathing and my heart is beating, I am conscious and thinking in awareness realizing that I am part of all things that have been created. Such is truly miraclulous and I give thanks and praise to Allah (swt) for the same, and rightfully so.

Many who are looking for a miracle are actually looking for "side show magic", entertainment rather than enlightenment and the miraculous gift of life as Allah (swt) has given the same to us.

A man once spoke with the prophet Ibrahim (alaihi sallaam) asking about Allah (swt). Ibrahim (as) said," Allah (swt) is the one who gives life and death". The man said, "I, too, give life and death". Ibrahim (as) said, "Allah is He who makes the sun appear to rise in the east. If you are as great as Allah (swt), make the sun appear to rise in the west!"

Do we thank Allah (swt) for the gifts and blessing He bestows upon us or do we demand to be entertained?

ma'a salaam.

Are you kidding?

God came into my life, after years of abuse I suffered from relatives, including rape and beatings and incest. I was suicidal, bitter and angry and I had no friends. I planned to kill myself and someone on a Crisis hotline got me in touch with a group of Christians. I met people with genuine love, faith and peace. They introduced me to Jesus Christ and my whole life has been different/better since then.

My healed heart and love relationship may not be a big miracle to you, but It is big enough to still be helping me 37 years later.

I think you skeptics are the ones who are being ripped off!

An ant outside just momentarily cut a piece of leaf into the shape of Jesus...... oh... wait... now it looks more like Ronnie Corbett.... and now it doesn't look like anything.

And Leslie thinks her being "saved" is somehow more impressive than fireballs from the sky or a month and a half of global flooding.

Not really.
I'm also not missing things like the arena full of lions to amuse the Romans.

The big stuff still happens, we just don't (most of us) attribute it to God trying to make his point anymore.
