None of us knows how long this world will last, so speculating in terms of time frames is futile.
It seems likely, though, that 100 years from now Islam will be the most widely-held faith in the world. This is because, for the first time in human history, it is easy for people everywhere to find the truth about Islam, due mainly to this wonderful Internet. As a friend said when she accepted Islam shortly after meeting Muslims for the first time,
"Makes sense, doesn't it?"

I believe that islam is going through it's own personal revolution. Many people may not agree but Islam is near the bottom end of a steep decline in principles. Many Muslims follow the religion based on archaic teachings and for a religion that highly valued progression at its flourishing stages it has descended into a faith that has refused to progress beyond the time it first developed. I think that many are becoming disillusioned with the current teachings and this will cause a evolution in its principles that are long overdue. If you look at many of the young and upcoming islamic leaders a lot of them are working hard to try and shift long standing views and bring a new light to the religion. It may not appear that way now but i believe that generations from now, the teachings wil be more compatible with the times we live in. And to answer your other questions. I think 500-1000 years from now, the religions as we know them today will no longer exist. It may be that they will be a subject that we teach these days called mythology!

I think majority will be Muslims. When we look at today's world, we see that Islam is the fastest growing religion however many don't want to believe in this fact. Well who cares what they think, facts are facts. And I'm sure this will go on and the population of Muslims will increase day by day. Which means, yeah the majority will be Muslims.

Islam is Religion of Allah. Allah will succeed in turning all humanity as Muslims. If Allah wants He can turn every human over night as Muslim. But No Allah wants them to accept Isalm with their own Free Will and complete understanding.
According to Prophesy of Prophet Mohammad SAW, when Jesus Christ RA will return to earth, he will himself announce that he never said, 'he is son of God or God Himself''. He will announce himself as Muslim and follower of Prophet Mohammad SAW. After that all Christians will accept Islam. Very soon then rest of the people of all other religions will also follow Christians and will come into the fold of Islam. Under the leadership of Jesus when most people will be Muslims, he will also enforce Divine Revealed Laws of God in Quran and Torah on entire planet earth. Muslim Empire will be headed by one Khalifah like it was after Rasoolallah died for around 40 years.
Under the leadership of Jesus Christ 'The Kingdom of Heaven'' will come into existence and there will be peace on entire planet. This means that the Sovereign King will be Allah stationed in Heaven ruling the world Himself. World will be ruled by the Khalifah as vice Roy of Allah ruling by the Divine laws Allah revealed in Torah and Quran through Angel Gabriel to His Prophets Moses and Mohammad SAW.
We don't know how long it will take. I believe Muslims will be in a great number and possibly majority population in all western countries in 500 years or so. Some Muslim scholars have already predicted that Islam will rise again from west. Because converted Muslims are much more devoted Muslims, and being highly educated they will serve the cause of Islam much better than born Muslims of eastern Muslim countries.
For your Information right now President of ISNA (Islamic Society of Muslims in Americas) is a woman named
Professor Dr. Ingrid Matteson who reverted to Islam some 12 to 15 years ago. Islam doesn't require to change name like Muslims have unless the meanings of new Muslim's original name is against the belief of Islam.
A young boy accepted Islam and came to Prophet's Masjid in Madina. Rasoolallah asked him his name and he said my name is Abdus Shams (Slave of Sun). Rasoolallah said I give you better name Abdul Rahman (Slave of the Most Merciful) which is name of Allah because name Abdus Shams was from the Religious belief of those who worshipped Sun. Salman Farsai, Bilal, and many many people who accepted Islam in Prophet's time continued their previous names as long as their names did not have meanings contrary to the Islamic belief.
Most Muslims change name to be identified as Muslim Which is good desire of reverted Muslim.
