1 Corinthians chapter 14:

As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

Another example:

In Genesis chapter 3, God punishes Eve, and all women for thousands of years, with greatly increased pain during childbirth. No such pain is inflicted on Adam. Why?

Because he was invented by primitive, superstitious patriarchal men who believed that women were their property, and also a bit 'evil' because women's bodies caused men to 'lose their minds' with lust...

Read the Malleus Maleficarum for further insight.

The bible was written by men, for men, and voted on by men as to what it should contain.

Women were nothing but chattel until recently and they still are in some parts of the world.

There are many different versions of the bible but in each "interpretation" they all pretty much say the same thing. There were also many mistakes made when it was interpreted and those mistakes have never been corrected. In the ancient languages they used the same word for different meanings and that is how some of the mistake were made.

Since Paul is directly speaking to a group of people....maybe they had trouble with women speaking out in church. Or, maybe it was some other problem like that. It bothers me to see one more example of someone pulling a scripture out and making it seem to say something it doesn't. I would give scripture here that shows God showing favor to women, but then I could be seen as doing the same thing. I am a woman and God has poured out His love on me. That is all I can say for certain. He loves me.

squirt and Spoken4 are right, it was just Paul formerly known as Saul who said that.
In The Bible, certain men such as Paul were afraid of Women being in power which is why for example Lilith is not held in high regard with some because she didn't want to be Adam's wife and why Eve became his wife instead.
Though it is true in some cases that Women are treated slightly more better, with other cases it isn't especially in poorer countries and in Catholicism women are still not allowed to be made Popes etc, etc.

That part of the bible is just Paul. That man hated women with a passion. As for god in the O.T., I've always wondered why he hated women myself. Women are the spiritual vessels of human kind. Why did god, Paul and the Hebrews in general dis women so badly? When I find the answer I am going to write a book on it. I know the answer is mind blowing and it has been kept silent for eons.

Because the bible was written by man, in the time of a male dominated world.

Sadly, in some places of the world it still is this way.

God doesn't hate women.

The reason Paul wrote this is because he is answering a letter from the Corinthians.

Women and men sat on opposite sides of the church.
If something was said that the women didn't understand they would yell across the church to their husbands.

So Pauls tells them to have the women wait and ask their husbands at home.

Genesis 3

17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,'
"Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.

18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.

19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."

I don't think it was a picnic for Adam.

Eve had pain in child birth. Adam and all men have to work hard everyday.

We are not punished for eternity. We have Jesus Christ.
The first Adam brought death, the last Adam (Jesus) brings life.

1 Corinthians 15
42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"[e]; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we[f] bear the likeness of the man from heaven.

I have no idea. The fact that women are treated so sh1tty in the bible makes me wonder how any women can be Christians. These 'verses' don't paint a portrait of a "loving God."

Corinthians isn't God, that's Paul.

As for Genesis, it WAS woman who induced MAN to violate the rules.

Is that hate or anger

Do you HATE your dog when he grabs your steak off the table and eats it or do you just get angry.

God is entitled to have feelings and emotions.

Why do you think God is above that.

The serpent and the women ruined his master plan. He's entitled to get a little miffed.

Just be thankful he didn't snuff out woman and make man an HERMAPHODITE

That is within in realm of doing, you know!
