As little as possible. They have everything over there. I mean everything. Just bring your debit card, but guard it with your life.

Apart from stuffs in your luggage/backpack - light clothings, sneakers, caps, international adaptor, digicam w/ memory card, GPS navigation system to save time asking for directions, etc., in your wallet - Euro, debit/credit cards, id's, try to take also some French and German with you ( I mean here-simple expressions) with would help you a lot in your trip. When travelling in Germany, keep your passport and other travel documents with you at all times. You will be aprroached by a policeman even if you are just walking on the streets.

Euros, your visa card, electrical converter, camera with batteries and enough memory cards, space in your luggage for all the stuff you'll buy. Pack light, try to bring clothes that are ready to wear, and can be worn more than once.

Just bring what you need as you would on any normal vacation.
Europe is just as advanced as the US if not more so. Anything you need will be available to buy.

We always tell people to pack light.... if you forget something, you'll be able to get it there. Here is our basic packing list with the "amenities and necessities" we generally take: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/basic-packing-list.html Don't forget that you need to pack with today's security alerts in mind: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/travel-security-alert-packing-guide.html

The adaptor plugs are plugs that go between your appliance with their US style prongs and the foreign wall socket with the receptacle for a different arrangement of prongs. We take several when we travel so we are prepared for anywhere we go. (Some countries even have two different styles of wall sockets, so you might need two kinds of adaptors.) You may have these already. If not, you can get them at any travel store or online. Here's a site that will explain about the plugs and also converters: http://www.voltagevalet.com/country/all.html

Most of the appliances we take are "dual voltage".... my curling iron automatically senses if we are using 120 or 240 and all I need is the adaptor plug. Digital camcorders, battery chargers for digital cameras, and computer chargers tend to have built in voltage converters.

If your appliances don't allow for the change in voltage in one of these ways, then you will need a voltage converter that will go between your appliance and the adaptor plugs.

Wear a "money belt" to protect your passport, credit cards. Take an ATM card. Check our site for more tips.

Hope this helps. Happy travels... even if you don't travel the world... just remember that life is a journey... embrace and enjoy it! http://www.mousetourstravels.com
