basicly America would have to force their corupt government out of office.and castigate them . mexico would have to be ruled by america thus abiding by the same laws. let them have their language. they will want to return home to their quaint run down villages. hey its a thought. should erase the illegal mexican problem. and it would make more jobs for mexicans in mexico.

of course i am in it for the welfare of mexico to make mexico better. the better mexico is the more they will want to stay there. if it was ruled by America it would be changed.

Just opening a border wouldn't allow America to rule Mexico. Or do you want us to invade and conquer it? Mexico's second biggest economic boon is money sent back to Mexico by workers in the U.S., so they won't just "return home" to their villages. Add that to huge addition to the Welfare rolls and it would be an economic disaster for America. And not sure how any of this would force our Constitutionally elected government from power. I know, I know, you only mean Bush. The whole idea is simplistic and you just don't consider the ramifications of such a scenerio. And I've barely scratched the surface of all the problems it would create.

I bet you don't live in any of the border states. If you did, you would NEVER suggest opening up the border. You sound like you are more concerned about the welfare of Mexico than the fact that Mexico is literally destroying America.
We are already overrun with illegal alien criminals that have invaded us and are trying to take over, demanding rights and services they don't deserve.
CA alone shells out over $10 BILLION each year. Do you want to make it $100 BILLION? I sure don't! We can't afford to take care of Mexico and deal with your corrupt government.
Mexico wouldn't allow America to "rule" them. If we give them the chance, we will legally be Northern Mexico. That's wrong!

we can't afford to cover their education and benefits. They have all these years kept the best for the rich and the least for the poor making their poor much harder to educate. It isn't just the language barrier it is parental education etc. That is why our schools where illegal immigrants concentrate are failing our own children. The 'worst performing' get money tossed at them for intervention while our own children's programs are cut across the board because they are not failing. 'Not failing' is not what we pay for with our taxes and won't let our own children compete in a competitive world.

"If you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas."
It's like having a dirty-or sloppy roommate. Wherever he/she moves in, the place begins to go down hill.
America has standards of health, living, work ethic, performance standards, quality control etc, that Mexico DOES not have. So, in effect, you are supporting America diminish it's standard of living to accommodate another country's population just because they're too afraid to revolt against their corrupt mexican govt, and want to run away and hide here--breaking the law to enter USA without permission or legal working or visiting visas!
We don't want mexico--and we don't mexcians run over our borders. They need to stay in mexico and fix whatever problems they have there! End of story.

Uh no, with the problem that Mexico is having with the gangs fighting for the drug cartels i think that should be left there. We cant go around solving other country's problems.

Because the economy would go into the toilet and the value of the american dollar would plummet, further widening the rich from the slave labor class. We're trying to make things better, not worse. Who would want to stay in a quaint quiet villiage when they can come to a major city and have their asses wiped for them.
