It was about God putting himself on a human level by sacrificing someone he loved to show the world that he loved them, hence no matter what sins they were guilty of ... he would forgive them because of that love. God is perfect ... he forgives all. Even though Jesus was going to die he asked God to forgive them because he knew they were not aware of their actions and could not be held accountable for their ignorance. Remember he was not dead for long ... 3 days ... it was the pain and torture he endured that counts and was done to show that God feels all of our pain. Freewill dictates pain as necessary ... or true freewill can not exist. It was their true freewill being exercised that actually killed Jesus.

The crucifixion was not the main part of the atonement. A lot of people were crucified. It wasnt exactly a special kind of death. A lot of people get tortured, too.
Whatever happened in the Garden of Gethsemne is what accounted for most of the atonement and the sealing of this sacrifice with the blood of Christ and then the resurrection concluded it.
No unclean person can live with God and no human can be sin free on their own. Christ paid for our sins to cover what we cannot cover. It also gave us a way and a process to repent and make ourselves clean again.
Believing the atonement isnt going to do anything for you if you arent applying the atonement, which means actively repenting. That is why it is thru Christ we can be saved, because believing in him and what he did for us gives us the knowledge and ability to apply that sacrifice.

"Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins."
WTF? The all powerful god had to follow some silly old rule? God could have forgiven without blood... he's god after all.
"What more could God have done than that to show that He was willing to give up His only Son to retreive You."
Give up? Jesus torture and "death" lasted a weekend. (Millions of people have suffered more than that, for longer). And Jesus ascended into Heaven, so God didn't give anything up.

God is forgiving. If a sinner realize his bad deeds and stop doing bad things and ask for God’s forgiveness, then God will for give him. At least this is Islam perspective.
God is not a blood thirsty animal that could be satisfied by bloodshed. It is just like an African belief confessed by primitive tribes. Especially if the blood coming from a person who said “Eli..Eli lamma sabakhtani” (God..God why are you forsaken me)
God/Allah is most forgiving.

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
In the Old Testament the people sacrifed animals for they're sins.
This didn't please God because it had to be done over and over again and it kept reminding Him of sin.
God chose a sacrifice that would cover sin once and for all.
His Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Ultimate Sacrifice.
Jesus is God in the flesh. God stepped down from heaven to save the world,
Matthew 1:23
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" [ Isaiah 7:14] —which means, "God with us."

The price for sin must be paid for. We have debts in life that must be paid for. We have what we have materially and it had to be paid for. Sin must be paid for too.
Jesus paid the penalty for our sins on the cross. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life."

it takes blood to compensate for sins. it is why they did sacrifices. at the same time as Christ died, that stopped because he changed into acceptable and coated all sins. convinced, God is omnipotent, yet he's likewise merely. breaking that would want to really be proscribing God. It advise that God lets evil "slip by" and bypass unaccounted for. Christ changed into the in easy words way justice and mercy might want to both be shown.

Put it this way, he is a babies killer, a mass murderer, a pervert that put people to death because these people do not perform incestuous act for his viewing pleasure. So what gives you the idea he should not torture his own son to reach orgasm?

One thing to start off. If men cannot forgive themselves for their sins, how can God? God wanted men to know their sins were forgiven. How else could men find it in themselves to be forgiving of their transgressions, and the transgressions of others?
God gave free will to men.
I don't see why people spend so much time asking Christians their opinions when if they read the bible they'd have the answer to the question. The bible specifically tells you why God can't jsut do that.
But in short, let me explain.
Adam and Eve were created to live a certain way. To walk the earth with
-might
-power
-dominion
and authority.
When Eve deceived Adam, and the both of them deceived God, the "anointing" or "the covering" God had on them was lost because they had sinned. They were no longer without sin. It was then that Satan (or if you like to look at it as a mental thing, not a physically present Satan) was present in the airs of the world.
God saw that the world was living in sin, and hate, and people were living in the exact opposite way they were not meant to.
They were living in fear.
Adultery.
Guilt.
Hatred
Un-forgiveness
They had no faith.
They just sinned. God created mankind. We are the children of God. God wanted his children back, so he sent his son in the flesh to TEACH the people of the earth, HOW they were supposed to live. The way God intended for Adam and Eve. God wanted to give that covering back to his children. So he sent his son to teach people how they were meant to walk the earth.
Love. Peace. Power. Dominion. Authority. As brothers and sisters under God.
Jesus was God in the flesh. And he knew he had to die in order to redeem human beings for their sins. He died the death he knew he had to die. He had to give the anointing back to Gods children. So he died for them. Even as he hung on the cross he said "Father, forgive them. They know not what they do". Jesus was always in perfect love, and never hate. That's how God wanted us to be.
After the physical death of Christ, he retrieved the anointing back from Satan and the people could be saved. God wanted children, so he gave his only son, and look how many children he's got today?
Also, God acts through faith. The bible states that. Faith moves the hands of God, fear moves the hands of Satan. When you fear, you doubt. You have no Faith. You speak with your tongue, confessing the things you have in your life, or what you fear you will have, and then you end up having what you say.
The bible says "Life and death are in the power of your tongue". To be Christian and to walk like Christ, is to learn to be faithful in Gods word. God gives free will. He cannot act through fear. That's what stops the hands of God. God is no respecter of persons, he's a respecter of his word.
People are always waiting for miracles that will never come because of the same assumption that "God can do anything". Read the bible. Any question you could ask would be in there. I'd know. It took years going through various religions to come back to Christianity and understand the truth was there. I just refused to listen.
"My people are destroyed by their lack of knowledge". People reject the knowledge that's given to them. Don't ask us. Read what God says.
