The Concealed Weapons Board may also restore firearms rights to convicted felons under the Firearms Rights Restoration
Holders or CCW permits are required to remain sober when carrying a concealed weapon as required by statute on the Use of Alcohol and Controlled Substances while Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Certain areas are gun free zones under the statute

When stopped by a police officer, CCW holders must follow a defined procedure to let the officer know they are carrying a concealed weapon as required in the Disclosure of Concealed Weapons to Police Officer.

No. I live in a shall-issue state. I had to have a safety course (could of qualified with my DD214 but I didn't request a CCW license quick enough after getting out), had to have a background check, and then a photo license issued by my county sheriff. The whole process took about 6 weeks and $150.00. Renewal is $100 every 5 years.

Its not that hard if you are smart, know your local laws, have a good knowledge of fire arms. In my state it costs $100 for the class another $90 to turn it in to the local sheriff office wait 30 days to see if you are approved. Then you receive your permit in the mail. Expires in 5 years then you have to retake the class and pay the fees again

Alabama is a shall-issue state, meaning if you meet the requirements, you are entitled to a permit.
Some states, like California, are may-issue, meaning that the sheriff can deny your permit for any reason or no reason, including that you haven't demonstrated that you need it.

In most states which have this, NO. In anti-guns states like NY, Illinois, and California, it almost takes an act of congress.

In my state you take a course. Then you take a small test. You register with the sherrifs office. They should be able to give you information on your state. My state is WV...and NO it is not hard.

It takes paperwork and field testing with your firearm and money. Move to AZ and you canalways carry any legal firearm as long as it is visible. Good law

I don't know the specifics about it, but one of my friends with the american military got one. He had to write a test, I believe, but he said it was very simple to get done. He went and got it "just because".
