Anyone familiar with Subud? Do you feel it's a cult?

I don't need an explanation of what it is, I'm just wondering how you view it.

I had a teacher who got into Subud. She said that it really helped her, and she didn't seem to be exhibiting any of the classic indicators of being involved with a bad religious group (cutting off ties with family and friends, and so on). I don't know if she's still involved in it or not, though.
