~Yes prayers are answered in 3 ways. If whatever you are praying for is not right for you, the answer will be no. If it is something you deserve, need, or will be good for you the answer is yes. Sometimes you need to learn something first or the timing is just not right, in this case it takes time, but the answer will eventually be yes. Sometimes the prayer is answered in a different form then what you expected.
PS you have to actually work to achieve whatever it is your praying for. If you pray for money, you have to actually get out and look for a job, God wont do all the work for you.
God is always looking out for us, and always knows what is best for us. Have faith.

The Cancer patients on the site below are in pain, some do not understand why the cancer chose them, some are aware that we do not yet have a cure for some of the cancers -
YET they are asking for prayer for they believe that God, even while they are in pain, still answers prayers.
Jeremiah 33:3 - Call unto me and I will answer.
John 14:14, Mathew 7:7
His timing may differ with ours BUT Isaiah 59:1 says "behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear"
Blessings,
Chester

Yes, I do. I have experienced it and seen it happen to others. The answers came in ways that seemed miraculous and truly revealed God's hand in them.
I have also had my share of "unanswered prayers"--things that didn't turn out the way I would have liked or chosen, or the way I prayed for them to. Some of the situations I can now see turned out for my good after all (Romans 8:28) though they didn't seem good at the time. In other situations, I guess I will have to wait until I get to heaven to really understand why God allowed them to happen the way they did.
God hears and answers sincere prayers of His children in accordance with His Will.
The only prayer of a lost person God hears is the prayer of repentance and asking for salvation. God also doesn't make "deals" with us in times of crisis--He answers prayers on His terms, not ours. If we are harboring sin in our heart, He won't hear us. The book of James says that our prayers aren't answered because we "ask amiss", meaning we ask for things for the wrong motives or outside the Will of God. So we have to come to God in the right way with the right motives in order to be heard. We are also instructed to pray in the name of Jesus, and to invite the Holy Spirit to intercede on our behalf when we don't even know what we should pray for. There is also some truth to the old adage "Be careful what you pray for." For example, a person praying for more patience might be given trying situations to test and grow their patience, which would be hard to go through in the meantime.
So the answer to your question is a conditional yet emphatic "Yes".

I read for you this quote from St James to see The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:13-19
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.
My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,

I have no way of knowing. If there is a God there is a possibility he answers some prayers.

I read in a NDE that there are certain prayers that God and His angels pay IMMEDIATE attention to. (Betty Eadie "Embraced by the Light") They resemble beams of light going straight up into the stratosphere. The more people that pray, the larger and more noticeable the beams are.
