Earlier today, my cell phone was stolen. I was at a Halloween store looking for costumes (they were half-off!). As soon as I realized that my phone was missing, I back-tracked the whole store and could not find it. I reported it stolen to the manager and also reported it stolen to my phone company and deactivated it. When I left the store, I realized that the two woman that were helping me at the fitting rooms were most likely the ones who stole my phone!!

When I talked to the manager, she said that earlier this week, she had another stolen cell phone incident and those two girls were accused, but nothing was ever found. My sister was with me at the time, and we are both PRETTY SURE it was them. The manager said she would talk to the two girls.

Is it too late for me to file a police report? I figured, it's just a cell phone and the store is only a seasonal store, so the police probably won't do much. But they did have security cameras and IM PRETTY SURE I KNOW WHO DID IT!

Yes. Report it. If the people you suspect are doing this actually are, your report will help document it.

Go to the PD and make a report and let them know this is at least the second time this has happened there. If they have more than one report on problems like this at that location, they are more apt to look into it and try to find the guilty party, too. Be sure you read the report before signing it and make sure all the details are accurate ~ this is an official document so you want it to be correct.

You can always make a report on an incident but the sooner you do it, the better. What a shame you didn't call the police to the store when everything was "new" and they could have talked with everyone in person at the time of the incident.

File A Report So If The Pattern Persists It Will Be Investigated. You Will Be Out Of Luck But At Least You May Start The Ball Rolloing Against Whomever Stole Your Phone.

IT IS YOUR CALL. YOU REPORTED THE PHONE STOLEN AND THE MANAGER SAID ONE WAS STOLEN EARLIER?

WITHOUT A REPORT, THESE TWO COULD GO ON A SPREE OF PART TIME JOBS DOING THE SAME ACT.

POLICE MAY ALREADY BE BUILDING A CASE AGAINST THEM AND YOU WOULD BE ONE MORE PIECE OF KINDLING TO THE FIRE.

you can stilll call the police and report it and tell them what you feel is right. they may look at the camera film or not.....it might be too late, i would have called the police while i was stil at the store, and the police could have checked their purses and employee locker at that time...most likely if they did take your phone, it is hidden somewhere other than the workplace, so if might be too late...i would still insist on a report....
