It's ok to have differently colored frames but try to limit them to two colors. .Black and silver will blend harmoniously but black and gold could clash, unless you intend to highlight the picture within the golden frame and your well is painted red. Try to position the different colors in a way that creates balance.
More important than the color is the type of frames you're combining. Straight modern black goes well with modern silver frames.

If you plan on hanging the pictures up together the frames should be related to each other. I have 6 pictures on one wall with 3 different frames however they are all the same wood, staggered and all the same size which looks very nice. On a wall in my basement I have a collage of pictures with different frames, different colors and it looks okay because the room is a child's playroom. To play it safe use the same color frames.

No, some difference is good. You pick the frames to highlight the art, the art because you love it, and the rest of the room to accent the art. Both frames will look great juxtaposed against each other. NOw, is there a theme to the art? All doors, all family, all outdoor photos? If no particular theme, choose the favorites and put them in the silver frames, as they will look richer. If a theme, place the more outstanding ones in the silver frames, or place the silver on E & W walls, and the black on the others.

A lot depends on what style or look you want. The same color but different types of frames create unity. The same style of frames but various colors can add an accent of color in a neutral palette. A variety of shapes can change the dimensions of a room or wall. Grouping can be important no matter the type, style or color of frame. Do not forget about matting color, too!

Traditionally, black frames are used for dead people.
But people don't seem to follow that any more.
Choose two; black and silver would go nicely.
A color [ black, green, red, blue, white, etc. ] and a metal [ brass, silver, copper ], or a color and a wood [ oak, walnut, etc. ], or a metal and a wood all work, just keep to two so you can re-arrange or move pictures around.
Also, vary frame shapes, sizes, and groups [ 2, 3, or 4 pics in a row, in a triangle, in a square ] to make them visually interesting.

I like black frames with black and white photos. You can have black and silver frames in the same room but you should group them by color in different areas of the room.

I would go for the same color but different style frames. Like if you use silver make sure they are all different patterns on the edge. I have all gold ones in our hallway with different patterns and it looks really nice.

If you have several in silver and several in black - - it is OK.
With that setting, don't add a 3rd type frame in the group.
You can mix them or group them.
Several in black with one silver; several silver with one black.
Group of black frames; group of silver frames.
Alternate.
One silver in middle of black grouping; vica versa.

what ever you like, and will match your motif
if you have all the same color it can end up looking tacky or OCD...
You need variety thru color and texture.
