Squash PIE????????????????

my aunt says a person can make pie out of squash instead of pumkin..is this true?

I prefer Hubbard & butternut "pumpkin" pies to pie-pumpkin pies! Both these squashes have superior flavor to the various pie-pumpkins.

Yes, have even tried the frozen pkg. of butternut squash in place of the pumpkin in a pumpkin pie recipe and it worked.

Oh yes! My grandma used to make some really wonderful pies using butternut squash and I think banana squash. She even made one using zucchini! And they were all so yummy! you couldn't tell the difference!
