I live in China but have been told by friends that birth control pills manufactured here are unreliable. Does anyone have any idea if the pills in Hong Kong (where I will be going for a visit soon) are any more reliable? Can they be purchased there without a prescription? If a prescription is needed, do you know if I can visit a family planning clinic in Hong Kong or is that service only available to HK residents? Or can someone recommend a private doctor to visit?
Any advice appreciated. Thank you for serious answers.

Its a Family Planning Organization in Hong Kong, under control by the government. I have gone here before to help get my friend some birth control pills. Its sponsored by the government and are safe. But only problem is there are only two locations for this place.

If needed to, just go to any Manning's, they are usually lax on prescription.

they're readily available at local pharmacies in HK, local ones or large chain stores like Watson's or Mannings. they can be found along the aisles and prescription is not needed. they probably have brands from china & other countries; just check the packing or ask the on-duty pharmacist.

You should be able to buy from any pharmacy without prescription. Go to any one and buy those made in places other than China for your peace of mind. There are many places that make such pills and are readily available there.
