uh, no then the Beaches at Normandy would still be bloody...makes no sense...a sandcastle cant even be preserved how can bloodstains? Black sand is natural...it's not cause of blood.

Get real...."RED"..... blood is water soluble ( washes out with water)......it has been 66 YEARS since the Pearl Harbor attack....even the spilled oil (which is not water soluble) of the Valdez disaster has been cleaned up.
The implication is of your question is that because of the many deaths (2,500) during the Pearl Harbor Attack....the sands are permanently stained red. At Normandy 235,200 troops died.....bled into the sand.....and it is a normal grey like everywhere else.

Some of the sand in Hawaii is black.....and some is grey....Pearl Harbor has more mud than sand but that is another issue.

Your friend is pulling your leg. First, the only beaches at Pearl Harbor are on Ford Island. And the sand runs from off-white to white. The attack on Pearl Harbor happened over 65 years ago. But, if you want to scare your friend, here's a true story. The Japanese planes came through Kolekole Pass to attack us. They say that not one day has gone by since then where there hasn't been at least a misty rain in Kolekole Pass.
I get to Hawaii about once a year and know that island well.

i just got back from living at pearl harbor for 3 years and the sand is either normal looking or it is volcanic black sand depending on which beaches you are at.
