What are the qualifications for the 144,000 mentioned in the Bible book of Revelation Chapter 7 & 14?

1) They are all Jews- Rev. 7.4 .

2) They are all men- Rev. 14 : 4.

3) They are all identified by tribe-Rev. 7:4- 8.

4) None of them are married- Rev. 14:4.

5) They have the Father's name written on their foreheads- Rev. 14 : 1.

6) They are all seen with Jesus on Mount Zion, on Earth - Rev. 14: 1.

7) Their appearance is after the Great Tribulation, as Christ will not return to earth until the beginning of the Millennium or at the very end of the Great Tribulation. (See Matt. 24:29 & 30, Rev. 1:7, Acts 1:10&11.)

This is all "figurative" you say? We may conclude then, that the number 12,000 following the name of each tribe in Rev. 7: 4- 8 is also "figurative", thus the 12,000 X 12,000 being the 144,000 becomes multiplied figurative thinking !

The truth is that there is not a single person on earth today that meets the qualifications of the 144,000 of Revelation chapters 7 & 14. Anyone who claims that he is one of them has been tragically deceived by the Watchtower Organization.

Are we to believe that Jehovah God has appointed an elite group of Christians destined for heaven and a crowd of second- rate Christians who must settle for a lesser inheritance, paradise earth? I think not.

"God is no respecter of persons". (Acts 10:34.)

What about the mention of two flocks by Jesus at John 10:16? The answer is very simple to understand. Jesus here is speaking to the Jews, that is, redeemed Jews through faith in His finished work of redemption. Jesus said, "There shall be ONE fold, and ONE shepherd." (John 10:16c.)

The other sheep that He mentions must be redeemed Gentiles, who also are recipients of salvation . Simple as that! There is no mention here of the 144,000 being the" little flock"

Why not consider discarding the teachings of the Watchtower and allow the Bible to speak to you by the guidance of the "Holy Spirit" ? See John 16: 13. He, the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth .

Shall We Add To The Confusion?.

Each year at the annual "Memorial" only the elite Anointed Class of members partake of the emblems. Being that some have died since the proceeding celebration, naturally each year there should be less participants. According to the Watchtower book "Revelation, It's Grand Climax At Hand" page 125 , only 8,808 partook of the emblems at the 1987 "Memorial". In the Watchtower magazine March 1, 1992 page 19 referring to the 1991 "Memorial" 8,850 partook of the emblems . Does this mean that now there are 144,042 of the Anointed Class? What do you think?

God Is Not The Author Of Confusion !

At what number did Russell begin counting in the 1870s when he started writing the "Truth"? How did Rutherford know when to stop counting for an accurate count of the 144,000? Jehovah's Witnesses YOU TELL ME ! Also, Some of the anointed have defected through the years and had to be replaced. Does this mean that Jehovah God made a mistake in choosing them?

Adding to the confusion of the Watchtower, the mistake is made by calling the 144,000 the Bride of Christ. Any serious student of the Bible knows that the Bride of Christ is the "Church" which started to be built at Pentecost and will be completed by the appearing of Jesus Christ in the air to call the Church to heaven. (See 1 Thess. 4: 16 & 17). Of course, the number of members of this true church (Ecclesia ) could well run into the millions, not a mere 144,000.

Is it safe to use conjecture in making the scriptures compatible with Watchtower preconceived theology?

Genesis 1:1, The fact that God never stated that He created the whole universe, instead "He created the heavens and the earth" means that He has assigned people to inhabit earth and another chosen people to inhabit heaven for in Revelation there was again a new heaven and a new earth. Paul in his 12 epistles (Romans 11:13) emphasizes that our citizenship is in heaven while the kingdom gospel of the Jews or Israel, they are promised to inhiret the earth eternally. Religious leaders falsely teach that we have immortal souls, that when we die we will have eternal bliss in heaven or receive eternal torment in hell or incarnate into some other form of life. But that is not in harmony with what the Bible teaches us about death. Notice the following passages: Eccl 9:5, 10: "For the living are conscious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol (the grave), the place to which you are going. Ezekiel 18:4: "Look! All the souls-to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son-to me they belong. The soul (or person) that is sinning-it itself will die. Simply put, we cease to exist at death! But it is God's purpose that soon we can obtain every lasting life. Ps 37:10, 11, 29: "And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more, and you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it. Rev 21:4: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Even if we should fall asleep in death before the fulfillment of God's promise we are not left in a lurch. John 5:28, 29: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all htose in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgement. Acts 24:15: "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. This is not a misplace confidence for Titus 1:2 says, "upon the basis of a hope of the everlasting life which God, who cannot lie, promised before times long lasting. True the Bible does reserve heavenly life for a selected few (Luke 12:32; Revelation 14:1, 3) but the majority of mankind will live in the home that God has provided for us (Ps115:16) and this home will be permanent (Isa 45:18)

This is pointing back to Genesis 1. Both the heaven and the earth are God's creation (go back a verse to Psalm 115:15; Genesis 1:1); but He put the earth under the stewardship of man, see Genesis 1:28,29.

Also to Noah - Genesis 9:1-3

The Bible relates that the fate of the earth is destruction, and that a "new heavens and earth" are in the furure, a euphemism for heaven

2 Peter 3:7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Psalms 37:9 "For evildoers themselves will be cut off,
But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth"

Verse 11 " But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. "

verse 28 " For Jehovah is a lover of justice,
And he will not leave his loyal ones.
To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded;
But as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off.

Verse 29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it. "

If you wish you can change the meaning of the word earth no matter what you do according to Isaiah 45:18 " For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else. Wow! What a stretch this is! Again, as I said before, the psalmists (outside of David) were not privy to a resurrection to come, as the prophetic books and the intertestamental period literature was. He or she is simply giving us their perception of things from the physical eye!
