In the Olympics the only sport where males and females compete against each other at the same time is in the equestrian events. Human or horse it doesn't matter the sex of either one.
I'm sorry I don't know much about golf and don't play but I thought it might help in to know that there are other sports where men and women compete equally...
And golf and equestrian events are both on the "is it really a sport in the first place" list...

The only reason why golf could be a sport where men and women can be equal is when the handicap system is used, otherwise the best men will always beat the best women especially when playing from the same tees because the advantages of hitting the ball further (i.e. being stronger) will always pay off in the end.

Equal in the sense that both women and men play. The purses on the LPGA tour are nothing like the purses on the PGA tour. One tournament on the LPGA tour pays a single winner a million dollars. On the PGA tour there are 19. Women have played in PGA tour events via a sponsors exemption. A few have actually qualified for PGA tour events. You can say the same for tennis. They are making the grand slam events in tennis pay out the same first prize for women and men.

the p.c answer is because of the shorter ladies distance, and the handicapp system. However the actual truth is that there is not a woman born who can beat an average male(i am talking pro.players).and the lower you go into the pecking order the more you realise that women are only fit for raking bunkers and making tea on a golf course.truth hurts but its just a fact.

Not sure I agree. If you've ever golfed, you'll notice there's a special tee for women, closer to the green than the regular tee. And a couple women have competed at certain men's tournament's and have done horribly in comparison.
Having said that, there's plenty of women that could beat me since I stink at it, but at a professional level, I don't buy it.

The Golf Handicap system will allow for everyone women, kids or amateurs to play against profesionals.
Thats one of the reasons its such a great game.

Because its not a contact or physical sport. You have to be steady, precise & flexible. Thats something that both men & women can do....They both have good traits to play the game but neither of them really over power the other with better skills....

For one, it is a sport where you spoil a nice long walk by a little white ball.
Next it all depends on how many strokes it takes you to get the ball from the tee box into the hole.
Now you know why golf is like sex. You can't speak the language without sounding dirty.
