Your thoughts?

Chee- Metro Phoenix does not a Country make...
"Forty-three states enacted 182 immigration-related laws this year, "an unprecedented level of activity," according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

"This is not a political thing," said Hayes. "It's not a Democrat or a Republican thing. It's an American thing."

All of those laws have tightened enforcement on illegals.

Oklahomas new law has now been challenged in court twice...and lost twice.

I think I hear both fat and skinny AMERICANS singing.

From my link.

Too many good answers for me to decide. I did appreciate Chee taking the time to add in her POV. Makes for a more balanced debate.
Thanks to all. I'm letting this one go to a vote.

This is great, I just wonder if there is a group based in California close to where I live? I would love to join an organization to help the cause!

Yes, well at least I hope so. Its an issue that crosses party lines and one that the public wants a resolution to NOW.

I joined two organizations, one local and one national - makes it easier to keep up with things and yes I do believe the handwriting is on the wall also to borrow your quote....

Did you see where New York clerks refuse to issue licenses to illegal immigrants?

"Some county clerks, meanwhile, said they would not issue drivers' licenses to illegal immigrants no matter what the state demands -- likely setting up a court fight.

The state Association of County Clerks plans to hold an emergency meeting Thursday to gauge how it may proceed.

"I'm not going to give a driver's license to someone who comes into my office and can't prove that they have legal status to be in New York," said Rensselaer County Clerk Frank J. Merola.

"I refuse to do it.""

Yes the tide is changing, the city I reside in has just recently signed a pact with ICE to report suspected illegals to Immigration authorities, and have a specially trained officer on the police force to deal with them. The city also passed legislation requiring city contractors to prove the legality of their employees, or face stiff fines, and criminal penalties.
There is already significant evidence that illegals are fleeing our city, as suddenly there are a lot of vacant rental duplexes that were previously occupied by Hispanic families.

I hope so
-America cannot support massive influx of illegals where ever they hail from.
-America is /was made up of Americans .People are fed up with the rants, rhetoric & demands of all the various groups of illegals (hispanics,asians,mideast,africans,...etc,.).
and the politicians courting anyone who will support them
-Americans are diverse population with differing ideas united by their alligience to and love of this countries freedom. The fact that most American citizen's ancestors immigrated from other nationsi s irrelevent. they embraced, learned and assimilated the new nations laws, culture and enjoyed the freedom to retain their family tradiitons, religion etc.
- Illegals want American "way of life"benefits/opportunities and to remain or retain their ethnic or native nationality..Being an American is for many ,NOT their focus ,goal/purpose. They chose to break US entry laws because they believe that THEIR desires/needs/goals are more important.
-I think Americans are tired of the demands for special accomodations (translators, multilanguange forms, crowded schools, emergency rooms,no entry jobs for their kids to earn $ for school, loss of jobs/businesses due to illegals working off the books (landscaping/yard work, service industries like resturaunts/hotels, building cleaning companies, etc,.
MAYBE Americans are finally realizing that the return on illegals is not worth the expense or the irritation steming from all the various activist groups threatening, ranting demanding and whining that they deserve/have a right to "x' and those who disagree are racist bigots or too selfish /inhumane ...
-Everyone doesnt always get what they want-even Americans. The Immigration quotas, application, and medical screening does take time and many wait for years for the opportunity to live/work in the USA.
- Illegals know they chose deceit to enter the US and hope that their crime will somehow be overlooked /forgiven. .
Chaos rules when individuals justify their actions /deceit or theft based on a desire to have "x",or a need to get"x".Everyone has needs/desires ;How one attains their desires/goals/needs defines the character /quality of the individual.

I believe it is Chuck and it is certainly way past time. Hopefully we will see more and more illegals leaving as more and more citizens stand up for this country.

Political action at the grass roots level has often been a catalyst for change. I believe this has the potential to change the political landscape.
