The oldest parts of the Bible (excluding Job) are the first five books, traditionally written by Moses around 1450BC. The last books were written around 75 AD; this makes the Bible around 3500 years old.

The Bible has approximately 40 human authors (not all are known), all inspired by the Holy Spirit (one true author)

2 Peter 1:21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God

The Bible is a collection of books written over almost 1000 years. It only makes sense to ask how old each book is, not to ask how old the whole Bible is.

Yes, there are about 40 different authors to the various books in the Bible.

The Bible was written over several thousand years by many different authors (that's why there are so many books in the Bible). So parts of the Bible are as much as 5,000 to 6,000 years old, and some parts are just 2,000 years old.

The oldest parts of the Bible were composed in the 9th century BC. The newest parts of the Bible were composed in the 2nd century AD. The Bible has many authors. Most of the material from Genesis to 2 Kings was put together by four different authors. The historical, poetical and prophetic books in the Old Testament are mostly written by independent authors, with some books composed by more than one author. In the New Testament, most of the books attributed to Paul and written to actual Churches were written by Paul, with the exception of Hebrews. Most of the books attributed to Paul and written to individual people are written by independent authors. Otherwise, the three letters of John were probably written by the same author, the books of Luke and Acts were certainly by the same author, and the rest of the books were written by independent authors.

Notes on Dates - People who believe that Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible date it to the time of Moses, c. 15th century BC. But scholars almost unanimously agree that the first five books were composed by four different authors beginning in the 9th century BC.

I imagine the Bible was thought up far beyond thousands of years ago. I have'nt a clue exactly how long ago God decided to make it a Spectacle on Earth but I know one very important thing about it......The Bible is not written with pen and inkwells but of Spiritual Force. It was a Thought of our Creators and it was written and literally formed into Substance through purely "out of thin air" by Gods request....just as the Universe was, just as the water put into the Ocean, just as the Earth was formed by His request. I'll let you in on a little secret.....Sometimes He even changes the words. Also, by His request is how exactly the Bible is interrpreted at any given moment by any given soul. You can read a verse one day but the next day the verse will mean something entirely different. This is meant to be.

the Bible was compiled around the 4th century at the Councel of Nicea. Thats the christian version of it. The jewish versions go back to when they burrowed from the Sumerians. At that time many different writtings were concidered and many of them rejected basicly because they did'nt support the early church doctrine. Many writers for many books. Ever read the book of Mary or Jesus' brother, James???
The King James version is almost NOTHING like that which we have now. Look up a copy on line. I think the first printing is 1621but I'm unsure of the exact date. Someone else got that date in history?

The Bible starts at the beginning of creation. Not sure of the actual age.

The Bible has God who spoke to the Prophets to write in the old Testament as well as God himself.

And Jesus appointed His 12 Disciples to write and preach the new Testament.

Both the old as well as the new speaks to us daily.
