YAY THANK YOU MOM AND DAD FOR TAKING ME DURING CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS FOR 2 WEEKS

PLEASE ANYONE WOULD GIVE SOME SUGGESTION?
I'm more looking into having fun with my family, as opposed to just shopping and buying stuff. I want to look around and see what HK is REALLY about. My parents were born there but sice they haven't been there since 1989, they don't know what going on. So please, help out a friend and give some suggestions! Thank you! Dor Jey!

THANK YOU in advance.

The place has grown up lots since then. Many tall skyscrapers, fashion malls, city night lights display, Disneyland, world largest outdoor Buddha, etc. It is the place for visiting and shopping, your parents will feel at home very easily. The transport system is much the same, with buses and mini buses still plying everywhere that the MTR cannot reach or the local rail line.

Just be ready for some good fun there.

Make sure you get a map! Hong Kong has long changed since 1989. I tell you, you WILL get lost because the streets are so different!

Go to the Victoria Peak at night to see the views. Tsim Sha Tsui and go to Avenue of Stars and check out the light show!

Just take a ride from the MTR and KCR and you will realize just how clean and high tech the transportation system is!

The main thing is explore, you should walk on Nathan Road from Mongkok all the way to Tsim Sha Tsui!! Also, go to Yuen Long and ride the Light Rail!!

the best area to stay in hongkong is in Central, Wan Chai and Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island and in Tsim Sha Tsui and Tsim Sha Tsui East in Kowloon. There are also a growing number of resort-style hotels in the New Territories that offer relaxing alternatives.
and dont worry if u want to go to hongkong because English is widely spoken and there will be no problems in communicating with people in most hotels, restaurants and even some taxis.

hope dis will help.

I wouldn't suggest taking your family to
Wan Chai. And the people that do def. dont have children. Wan Chai is more or less the red light district of hong kong. Its all clubs and tittie bars. go to the outlying islands, there is a surprising amount of nature and other things to do aside from starring at buildings all day and shopping. Buy a Lonely Planet tour book.
