My friends had very few trick or treaters this year ... and they were wondering if Mormons go trick or treating because they live in an area that is heavily populated by Mormons.

Well in a lot of places Wednesday is the "youth" night...where the kids meet at the church, or go bowling, or something like that...
But yes, we do go trick or treating lol! I would've gone, but I bought a car lol.

I am Mormon and I live in an area that is also "heavily populated by Mormons." A bunch of us with kids met at the church parking lot and let the kids go "Trunk-or-Treating" to the cars. Then I took the kids to Main street where the businesses were handing out candy to the kids. We didn't go door-to-door at all. Others go door-to-door trick-or-treating, but only to people that they know, while others still just canvass the neighborhood.
I think a lot of it has to do with the day in which we live where there are those few who would try to harm the kids and parents get overly paranoid about protecting them. It's unlikely that anything will happen to anybody in particular, but it is easier to play it safe than to live with the consequences of allowing something preventable from happening.

Yes we do. I went every year as a kid. The number of trick-or-treaters anywhere depends on the number of kids who live in the area, how the yard is set up, etc. For the past few years we have had half as many kids come by as we did when we first move in. It just goes in phases.

Yes of course they go trick or treating.
There are less kids going trick or treating all over because of the crazy people out there.

My Mormon kids went trick or treating. And had GALLONS of fun! And now there is WAY too much candy in my house, but that's another answer for another question.

My Kids did this year -- I did when I was a kid -- My parents did when they were kids -- my grand parents never talked about it.
