I'm not sure what version of windows I have. but it says it's not a valid version. my desktop wont load or anything. I'm looking for a way to fix this without losing my files and folders...

Did you purchase this copy of windows or is it hacked. If it's legal, call Microsoft and activate it with your activation code. If it's not legal stealware, you get what you pay for.

hehehe.. virus or misuse have corrupted some identification files. To fix it faster, put the harddisk into another pc, access and save the important files then reformat and reinstall.

If you have an illegal version of Windows, I strongly urge you to follow this link to Microsoft's contact numbers and see if you can buy a product key. Any service which claims it could help you would charge you anyway - and you would still have an illegal version which cannot be updated.
