You can legally be given a ticket for going even 1 mph over the limit. However, most cops will give you a grace of around 5 or so.
If you are going at the same speed as the other cars in your lane, then odds are you won't get pulled over, but remember that if you do, you can't use that as an excuse.

I find I have to drive at least 80mph to keep up with the flow of traffic. If you drive 75-80, people will need to cut you off. Cops don't like cars to drive too slow either because that causes accidents and congestion.
Just keep it under 90 and you should be fine.
Of course, this is only if the freeways are moving. Most of the time you'll just be doing stop and go - 25mph tops.
By the way, a lot depends on the type of car you drive. If you're driving a thugmobile with tinted windows, they'll pull you over for "speeding" just to have a look-see.

Average bear is right, "thugmobiles" will get you tickets. In my area you'd be ok at 78 unless you're driving something that catches our attention. In that case stick to 65 and pray we're having lunch.

You are definitely safe with 70, and probably safe with 75 if traffic is moving well. I wouldn't go over that unless you have money to burn. But of course - you shouldn't speed.

I'm not a cop but I dispatch for cops and I would say if you go over the limit and they see you they will give you a ticket. Some will let you go over just a couple of miles like 2 or 3 at the most. But that's it.

in the state of ga, the city or county officer must give you 10 mph by law, but a state officer (gsp, chp) dont have to give you any over, meaning if the speed limit is 55 and you are doing 56, your geting a ticket. i would imagine it is the same. but there are circumstances where all of this changes, ie, raining, traffic conditions, school zones, construction etc.

When i was in California, the law seemed to leave you alone as long as you maintained the speed of the rest of the cars and were not constantly changing lanes. They kind of like to see a smooth flow.

In Arizona I won't ticket you unless you are going 11 over.
