java tells me it can't open a page in yahoo because of the pop-up blocker....it's OFF, but it still won't work

I have installed and uninstalled java1.6.0. version four times now and it still is not letting me go to yahoo game rooms. I turned off the pop-up blocker on my browser, but Java says it's still on. What am I doing wrong ? I recently changed from windows ME to Windows XP so I'm not as familiar with things on XP yet.....but I need my Java back. It worked great in ME, will some one PLEASE tell me what is wrong ?

Do you possibly have google toolbar? That also has a pop-up blocker on it that may be causing you problems?

I can't tell you what is wrong....I will leave that for someone who knows. But I think I know a way for you to get in the game rooms, until someone tells you the real answer. Try holding down the control key before you click on the game room, and continue holding it down until the game opens. I think that will work for you. It works for me in Pogo.
