For the last couple of weeks (and no, I'm not pregnant), I have been soooo hungry! I had lunch today with a friend (Thai food) and about 30 mintues later, I felt like I was starving! This happens every day several times a day? I'm 47. What gives?

There are many possibilities. One, your metabolism could be going at a faster clip. If you've been more active, or have been eating a lot of spicy foods, your metabolism might be on the high end, too.

More likely, however, your foods lack substance. At every meal, make sure you have a serving of lean protein, such as chicken breast and/or fat-free milk, along with veggies, which should fill up half your plate. Drink plenty of water and exercise vigorously on a regular basis and it should stop.

Yet another possibility is weight loss. Your body doesn't like to let go of the precious fat it has stored up because. . . well, what if there's a famine? As if! Keep holding on and the pangs will pass, too.

You may also have a medical problem, such as tapeworm. If other symptoms accompany your appetite, such as irritability, diarrhea/constipation, muscle wasting, weakness, depression, etc., see your doctor ASAP.

Have balanced meals - complex carbs, protein, healthy fats, fruit and veggies and eat 5-6 small meals a day which will keep your blood sugar more stable and metabolism higher.
Drink at least 64oz of water a day.
Eat slowly - never overeat.

Your blood sugar level is artificially raised by teh foods you are choosing, and once that level drops, it leaves you feeling hungry...
