Im almost 18 years old and im dating an older boyfriend, its my senior year in highschool and he says i only care about myself if i go to school dances, hang out with my friends, and have a facebook? Whats your opinion on this?

um, he needs to realize it's your life, not his and if he doesn't appreciate that then maybe he needs to back off a bit.

Sweetheart, that is a bad bad sign. If he was any kind of a real man he would be telling you to enjoy your last year of highschool with your friends, going to all the dances, the football games, facebooking each other. Having a life is not selfish. He is the selfish one and he also sounds manipulative by trying to make you feel guilty. Get rid of him!

Yes, and the answerers are all over it! This is a year in your life when it is, and should be, all about you, honey! Not sure how much older he is, but all the answers so far are right on...older men who date much younger women are abusive and controlling and it only gets worse as time goes on. They cannot have relationships with women their age because women their age will not put up with their BS. Get out NOW!

I find it controlling. The best relationship are the ones that have the freedom to do the things they like to do. The ones that generally don't work are the ones where the people are with each other most of the day and night and don't get a break.

I think you are too young to have to be tied down by someone who sounds like he might be a tad bit jealous. You should be enjoying your youth but if you want to date an older guy you should also try to find ways to include him in on it.

You are not even eighteen yet, of course you only think of yourself. If he is not mature enogh to understand that, then you might want to consider someone else. This is the starting place of your relationship. Learn to read the signs before you buy. You will not change him.

i think he is controlling and it will only get worse as time goes on. you are young and trust me u want to enjoy your senior year and not have messed up memories of it when u get older because of ya man

He's definitely controlling...the basic problem with ALL older boyfriends. This is WHY they date younger girls in the first place, because most older women won't stand for it.
