My car only has 81,000 miles on it but it's 12 years old. The only reason I'm selling it is because I've had it for a year and now I no longer enjoy it so I want something newer and different. Thats it!There's nothing wrong with the car! Yet whenever I tell people I'm selling to get a new car, they dont believe me, even after seeing first hand that there's nothing wrong with it. The only reason people ask: "why are you selling?" is to find out if the owner is selling because the car has problems. As if the owner would really answer that truthfuly if they were selling because the car has problems. Give me a break. Such a dumb worthelss question. They think that my excuse is a red flag that there's some hidden problem with the car. Did I miss the memo that said people are no longer allowed to want newer, different things? It's gotten to the point where I'm going to have to lie. Anyone know any good believable excuses?

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the mileage and the fact that I've only had it for a year. People can't comprehend why someone would want to sell a car after 1 year with only 81,000 miles, which is low for a 12 year old car but a fair amount in general. I've tried using the "I just got a really good job so I'm looking to upgrade to a new car" excuse and that doesn't work. Car buyers seriously need to stop being so paranoid.
