My cholesterol is slighty very slighty high is this a disqualifier?

I have to give my recruiter test results and on thoes it says my cholesterol is high. i just want to know if it will affect me geting my waiver.

They will see your cholesterol level when you get your physical but that is not a disqualifier. Plus your cholesterol will go down in boot camp, depending on which service you select due to exercise and little if any junk food.

I have been in the Navy and Naval Reserve for twenty years and I have only had one cholesterol test. That was because the doctor at the reserve center thought I should have one; I never had one before. I never even heard what the results were.

Only if it is a factor in your having high blood pressure. If it is high, they will take it three times to be sure. If the systolic is over 140 or the diastolic is over 90, that's disqualifying.

No it isn't. The majority of people who don't take cholesterol lowering medications have elevated cholesterol.

They dont check for that, some people even have higer blood pressure when they first check at MEPS..its funny because it goes down after a few minutes, prolly all the stress and neverousness.

not necessarily, depends on underlying factors as to why it';s high.. hypertension, for instance, can be a DQ.

No, they don't even check when you go in for your physical at MEPs
