I have a suggestion, since using Internet and exclusive cell time is expensive up there. Why not read a book, do a crossword or word search, play cards, or use the plane's headphones? Expanding your horizons is the reason to travel in the first place.

I know you have to have all electronic devices off for take off and landing and cell phones off the whole flight because they tend to interfere with the pilots devices... and believe me you want them to know what they are doing at all times!!! as for what is allowed check the TSA website it tells all... http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

Since regulations for these things are changing constantly, you should call your airline just a couple of days before you fly.
