i don't know if it's necessarily a nationality thing... there are other nationalities featured in the harry potter stories (eg visiting students from europe) although it makes sense that, in a film that's filmed predominantly in the uk, people who are from the uk are in it

your moving to the uk (in the potentially unlikely event that you get a visa) doesn't mean you'll get an audition - they're fairly sought-after, and obviously all the major parts are already filled...
