Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.”—Matthew 7:21-23.

Biblically this will happen in the coming "Day of the Lord" recorded in the book of Revelation. Of couse as a prelude to this future coming day (back to Prophecy and its continued fulfillment) the sequence is: a. 7 years Tribulation, b. the second coming of Jesus Christ, c. the war of Armageddon, d. the 1000 years millenial kingdom, e. and the Great White Throne Judgement of the unbelievers leading the the Dispensation of the Fulness of Time where God then will put all things in order by Jesus Christ.

This is directed to the ones that belief once saved always saved.. ppl think they can go out and live the ways of the world and because they said the salvation prayer 30 years ago they will go to Heaven. but Jesus plainly says only ppl that will be in Heaven is the ones that said the prayer and LIVED by His commands. we must do the will of God to enter into Heaven not the will of man. will of man will get us condemned and then Jesus will say i never knew you get away from me and send us to Hell if we don't do the will of God which is simple the 10 commandment and several other things through out the Bible such as being baptized, witnessing for the Lord, forgive your enemies, etc. the road map to Heaven is in the Bible Christians or people wanting to know the way to Heaven needs to read it daily. Once saved always saved is a lie anyone that believes that is subject to condemnation.

It applies to the people who do not really serve Lord-God Jesus.

What you said here is actually from verse 22-23.

The 21 is actually very important for you, as Jehovah's Witness to see " Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord' will enter to the kingdom of heaven, but He who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.

Not everyone who says..but he who does. The barrenness of this sort of faith demonstrates its real character( v 20 - ) - the faith that says but does not do is really unbelief. Jesus was not suggesting that works are meritious for salvation, but that TRUE faith will not fail to produce the fruit of good works. This is precisely the point of Jas 1:22-25; 2:26.

Did we not prophecy...cast out demons..perform many miracles? Note that far from being totally devoid of works of any kind, these people were claiming to have done some remarkable signs and wonders. In fact, their whole confidence was in these works - further proof tht these works, spectacular as they might have appeared, could not have been authentic. No one so bereft of genuine faith could posibly produce good works. A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Lawlessness. All sins is lawlessness ( 1 Jn 3:4 ), i.e.,rebellion against the law of God.

To me these people are the people who do not accept God Jesus as their Lord and Savior. There are a lot of people who claim to be Christians but they have destorted the message of God Jesus. They do not fit into historical Christianity

Some people are just born with these gifts that God has given them and are to use these gifts for His Glory. Some gifts are very profound that some began to abuse and take the credit for their own glory. Some can even begin to use their gift to help others for a price. Thus forgetting why the gifts were given to them in the first place.
Mainly they began to use the gifts without love. Anything done without love is not of God and He has no part in it. Love is Law and Law is Love and without Love they are workers of lawlessness. God knows the intent and purpose of the heart.

Everyone...because if this passage excluded some, then those select few might lose their humility towards God and walk around like the Pharisees did. You know, thinking that they're high mighty and better than everyone else.

But all in all, in the end I suppose only your God will be able to judge which individuals this applies to.

All those in the tv ministry benny hill etc. collecting all your money.

Acknowledging Jesus Christ as Lord is essential in true worship. But something would be missing in the worship of many of those claiming to be Jesus’ disciples. He said that some would perform “powerful works,” such as supposed miraculous healings. However, they would fail to do what Jesus said is vital. They would not be “doing the will of [his] Father.” If we want to please God, we must learn what the will of the Father is and then do it.

Those who believed Christianity was nothing more than a set of rules and regulations to follows, who considered the New Testament to be some dry, legalistic textbook of do's and don'ts - who found their faith through obedience instead of relationship.

I think this may be directed to those who think doing nice things because Jesus would do them is enough to get them into heaven.
Jesus makes it quite clear in His teachings that the only way to enter heaven is by accepting the fact that we cannot save ourselves and that He alone is able to save us by the shedding of His blood for our sins.
