if the light is on the the overdrive is also on and active

Lit off highter highway engine RPM's Not Lit overdrive on lower engine RPM's fuel saving too. The system defaults to what (overdrive on) everytime you turn off the car. Unless your driving less than 45mph or 80 km there is little reason to turn OD off
