losing "weight" on the scale does not mean it was fat. starving the body slows down the metabolic rate and impedes fat loss, even just one day.

Many people find occasional fasting helpful., particularly if they consume a fair bit of red meat. Fasting can help cleanse the system, particularly the colon (Elvis Presley had 42 pounds of excess matter in his colon on his death), and colon health -- or lack of same -- can affect the entire body. If your diet is generally sound, there should be no negative affects of fasting, although it would be a good idea to drink tea with lemon and some fruit juice, and if your stomach is not too sensitive, a vitamin/mineral supplement. The day before you plan to fast, consume high fiber foods (such as cereal or beans), avoid red meat and high starches (these will be heavy in your system and defeat the purpose of a fast), and do not consume anything with food value (milk, sugar -- although tea with lemon and a little honey is fine) at least four hours before retiring for the evening. The day following your fast, eat lightly, avoiding heavy starches or meats if at all possible. If your regular diet is normal and well balanced, one day of fasting will not trigger your body into thinking it is starving (thereby forcing the body to start to hold on to and store fat.
At 5'10 and 145 pounds, fasting will not do much toward fat weight loss (which you don't need), but can go a long way in reducing belly pudge.

Nope it is worse, esp. if you are trying to lose weight, it will actually in essence make you gain. What happens is that your body stores fat cells, and when you confuse your body by not eating your body lets out these cells, when you start to eat again your body remembers starving and as a natural protectent will release even more fat cells to compensate, so your 1 day of not eating, will be counterproductivethe next time you eat. Plus you will make yourself tired, weaken your immune system, etc. It is better if you eat healthier, small meals 5-6 times daily, exercise and drink plenty of water. Eating more will make you lose more!!! And if you are looking for youself, you are actually under weight for your height so says the body, mass index.

Not eating for one day will put your body in starvation mode, and when you do it, it will cause your body to gain weight instead of losing.
Just follow a healthy diet of exercising and eating right, and you should be fine.

It could work but eating healthy meals does just as well, plus its not a healthy habit to get into. Where will it stop if you find it gets results or messes with your head.

missing meals slows metabolism and causes many to eat twice as more during one course. unless someone is not eating due to religious purposes, I would not recomend it.
