So, how long would it usually take to get there? I dropped the mail in a box on the 16th (it was pass picking up time though) and I'm guessing that it was actually mailed out the 18th.

I live in Illinois, not in a very major city. It was mailed as first class, weighs about 2 ounces, and in a small bubble mailer. I didn't have a custom form, since I have sent mail to Canada without them and they got there safely. So far, it's been about 12 days not including Sundays. Other times that I've sent mail, it's gotten there pretty quickly (1 week or so) so I'm worried that it might be lost. D: If that's possible... to lose to mail. >_< Can mail take more than 2 weeks to get there?

Thanks.

I doubt it is lost. As a bubble pack envelope it can still get in with the parcel stuff as it isn't just a letter. They (Canada post office/customs) report there is a huge back log of packages at the border. As the Canadian dollar is very strong, and some stuff is cheaper to buy in the US. (Like books - the publisher print a Canadian and US price on them, and the Canadian price is more when it now should be less. - Stores just started using the US price this week.)

ANYWAY, they say internet sales are way up this fall, and all those packages shipped from the US have backed up. I'd add 2 weeks on for the usual time right now. The problem should go away by next month and the new year.

Shouldn't take a package more than 3 weeks, but letters are usually within 10 days, depending on where it's going. Major southern cities have shorter times than northern ones.

That's much too long. Go to your post office and ask if it can be traced. If you didn't put a customs declaration on it (and it was a package, not a letter) that might be one reason for the holdup. Check with your local postmaster.

Why are you sweating on small stuff? there are countless keepsake shops in British Columbia. Get a keepsake it is made organically and supply it to the kin in the previous you go away.
