Wasn't there some line about carrying swords from him? Damn, can't remember. Sorry, I'm way to lazy to spend an hour looking it up.
To answer you directly:
I don't know enough about the Jesus character to be sure how he would come down on the whole war issue. He certainly seems like a bit of hippy, but at the same time, historically speaking, if this person existed, I tend to think he was an anti-Roman Jewish zealot who was probably a hard core insurgent.
But then again who knows?
My guess - he'd become a Scientologist.

A couple of people have said he would stop the war. I don't think so. Wars were going on in his own time and he didn't stop them. His land was under occupation by the world hegemon of the day, and he didn't stop them or even interfere with them. He said 'My kingdom is not of his world'.
But he certainly wouldn't participate in or approve of the war, or Bush' saber-rattling in the Middle East.
The Romans in Jesus' day didn't use Jesus to justify imperialism, invasion, occupation and cruelty. But the equivalent of the Romans today DO use Jesus for that. I'm certain Jesus wouldn't approve, but I wonder what he would do to stop them or denounce them.
He would certainly be upset with Christian leaders who had sold out to the GOP and pushed their political message. I know that because he was very upset with the leaders of his own religion, in his own time, for just the same thing. These leaders saw him as a toublemaker and had him put out of the way. Our most powerful contemporary Christian leaders--the Jim Dobsons and Pat Robertsons--would be just the same. I don't think they'd even recognize Jesus if he came today. They'd call him a 'pacifist' and a 'hippie' and say he was wrong to suggest 'loving' the terrorists and 'appeasing' them. And if he made any trouble for them, they'd be first in line to hang him up again!

(he would stop the war. ????)
he didnt stop the problems they had the first time. (romans for instance) why would he do so this time.
You guy dont remember that christ was all about talking and learning, not smashing armies with a wave of his arm..
Chances are if someone declared themselves to be Jesus reincarnated we would lock him up. you should remember that he wouldnt emerge from the sky in heavenly light. He would be a man like anyone else, chances are (just like last time) he would be riduculed by most people.

No, he would speak out against it. The war in Iraq is a horrible thing. Those Republicans who want it are not one with God. Anyone who uses religion as an excuse to fight, or ignores their religion's laws and volunteer's to fight is delusional.

Jesus would not kill.
As God, perhaps he would make thoughts of evil to others cause unbearable pain, and then all those bent on killing or injuring others would drop to the ground in self-inflicted agony.
People would learn the way to heaven is through love of others.

He would utterly destroy the monstrous military machine in place there. And pacify the contenders in the civil war.

I think Jesus would kick Bush out of office, and then clarify what Bush meant to say when God "told him" to go to war with Iraq.

Yeah sure but Jesus would let the humans do it and solve the mishaps, but anyways he's all peace and love; he wouldn't get into it.
