Most of us know that IQ does not necessarily mean less educated, but what do you think these means as far as thought process between believers and non-believers?

The Danish professor is a highly controversial academician who has previously provoked outrage by concluding that White people are generally more intelligent than Black people, and in 2002 that men have a higher average intelligence than women – while there are more men than women with very low intelligence

Education does not influence intelligence, but intelligence often determines the length of the education, according to the professor.

bunch of really intelligent baloney.
did he study monkeys or what?!
why would anyone even publish 'studies' from this brain-screwed 'professor'.

doesn't sound very reliable as there is no mention of statistical significance. The difference he found looks pretty small, there is no mention of how much the variation for each group was. In addition a Danish study on American data? How was the data acquired?. There is just not enough information given to judge that it might be a valid result. And the rest of the article does throw additional doubt on it.
It may not be wrong as there are other studies with similar findings, but purely based on that article this study does not sound convincing at all (and I am not even religious, but that doesn't mean I need to be uncritical)

Both believers and unbelievers could be very intelligent people. The thing is, its talking about believes here. And when it comes to the nature of believes, 95% of the time(unless one has been taught how to argue formally) the intellect goes out the window and emotions take over. I'm not saying that one becomes dumber when they argue about believes, I'm saying that a different part of the brain is used during the thinking process. And this is true for all people.

By the way, I'm addressing the "different" thought process part of your question.

As an atheist, I obviously consider atheism the more intelligent position, but this seems far from conclusive.

The actual findings are briefly mentioned in the beginning of the article. The rest of the article concerns the actual scientist who published these findings. My inclination would be to disagree with his conclusions, but it really bugs me when he immediately gets shot down because his findings aren't politically correct. If he publishes incorrect results, he'll get torn apart in the peer review process anyways.

Anyone can put numbers together and call it fact. Plus, IQ tests are highly controversial and do not often provide an accurate measurement of what "intelligence" is.

In the end, brain smarts can only get you so far. I know this from personal experience. Getting a 99% finishing average in high school wasn't the best thing that's ever happened to me. For me, it was Jesus Christ.

Of course atheists show higher IQ's. Think about it. Suppose you have 100 people, and all of them are ordered to wear red bracelets. Over time, 10 people willfully remove their bracelets. If sampled, which group will show higher IQ's? The group without the bracelets. Now, supposing we actually conduct this survey, should we conclude that wearing a bracelet makes you dumber? No. Should we conclude that smart people are less likey to wear bracelets? No. We should conclude that smart people are more likely to go against the status quo. In a country where the majority of people are born atheists, the religious people will have higher IQ's.

true, IQs don't nessecarily mean intelligent or unintelligent. However most religious fanatics seems to strongly believe that all of us will go to hell and they are always right. It's completely bs. And besides, reason atheists were considered smarter was because we open our eyes to actual proofs and evidence on science, meteorlogy, biology, history, astromony, and more.

it means that we're willing to think things through when a problem arises, whereas believers tend to focus more on their faith instead of actually doing something to fix their problems. Are atheists smarter? no, but we are more open minded and logical...generally speaking. Obviously, there are exceptions to the rule on both sides.

Statistics verify a higher level of education and intelligence for atheists in contrast to believers and this is even more well pronounced with every week church goers as the lowest rank in both. these are statistics and more than likely facts .

Nice article, I notice the professor is a white male and I an guessing an atheist.

I think his research is likely correct.

I also suspect everybody of some bias in interpreting it.
