They pay a certain percentage to the brothel for 'overheads' such as condoms, clean towels, clean sheets and other running expenses. This is usually around 10% to 15% of their earnings. The rest they keep. The largest percentage of brothel prostitutes do not take drugs and they are also the cleanest, being tested regularly for STD's.
Cortesians -- High end prostitutes -- Some take drugs while the majority do not as it would spoil their worth. If they work for an agency, the agency usually takes about 20% while the girl takes the rest. Others work alone and pocket all their earnings.
