They are always saying you should spay or neuter your dog, without even seeing your dog. So I think everyone sould do the human gene pool a favor and neuter these nuts!

I think you are a little confused. The reputable breeders and the rescue workers on this site who encourage spaying and neutering have nothing to do with Peta. Peta is a group who believes that no animal should be domesticated. They would rather see all dogs dead.
Dog lovers believe that irresponsible, uncaring people, shouldn't use their dogs to make money.
There is a GREAT difference between the two. Pay attention and do some research.

We have a whole bunch more rescues coming in to our group. Would you like to foster? Or would you like to encourage people to make more? We are quickly running out of foster homes, and will soon have to choose who lives and who dies, like thousands of other rescue groups in this country.

You can be part of the problem or part of the solution. Your choice. Whatever you decide, don't compare us to the nuts at Peta.

Personaly, I think that the idiots who breed their pets for money should be the ones neutered. Heaven knows what their offspring would turn out to be.

not a single person who's answered this so far understands peta's stance on euthenization and spaying/neutering. i think you all should get the facts straight and go directly to the source. as a not-for-profit, all of peta's records are for public viewing. they don't kill adoptable animals. they only euthenize those that are slated for euthenization at facilities that kill inhumanely (like pretty much all of them in north carolina), and they do so via the most humane methods. any other animal euthenized is for obvious reasons (terminal disease or injury).

spaying and neutering unfortunately is not a solution, it's a symptom of the overpoplulation cirsis. spaying and neutering must be practiced until we have gotten control over the populations of unwanted animals.

and someone said something about how peta doesn't want people to own "pets". that's completely not true. just go visit the peta hq in norfolk, va and you'd see a bunch of dogs and cats running around the offices, all of which belong to employees.

do some reasearch people. it seems counter productive to society as a whole to hate an organization which dedicates all its time, money, and resources to saving the lives of animals.

Well...they say that to try and curb the outrages numbers of cats and dogs (not to mention other types of animals) that don't have homes. have you seen the numbers on how crowded animal shelters are? Or how animal shelters don't have enough money to feed most animals? I'd rather spay or neuter an animal than risk feeding a homeless population.

I'm for spaying and neutering certain people too. I know one I would start the top of the list with...

I'm not against it. My 6 year old black lab is spayed, and any dogs that I get in the future will be spayed or neutered. The female dogs bleeding all over the place is disgusting in my eyes. Before I got my lab spayed, we would use the little dog pads, or keep her out in the garage.. The pads didn't work. She would chew them and take them off and just continue to bleed everywhere, and when she was in the garage, still got blood everywhere. And with male dogs, it stops a lot of their territorial marking and helps with any behavior problems. And also the health side of it. Spaying/neutering takes away the chances of female dogs getting infections in their uterus, and male dogs from getting testicular cancer. Unless you have a breeding a show quality dog, there is absolutely no reason to not have your dog fixed.

I'm for animal rights... completely. I think PETA is a very hypocritical organization (but I won't get into that). I think some dogs should be spayed/neutered and some shouldn't; depends on the dog. I'm vegetarian and don't wear animal products, yet I don't splash red paint on anyone.

I also think half the people who have responded to this are douchebags. Go spay/neuter yourselves!

PETA is a bunch of hypocrites! If their followers ever knew the kinds of things they do they would go nuts. PETA kills almost 2/3rds of the animals it claims to save and a lot of other crazy stuff. It is a big money scam. Nobody works for free and everybody is out to make a buck. I knew this chick who loved PETA and used to pay $$$ to be a member. When i showed her a video of all the bad stuff PETA stands for she started crying. That's too bad but it is unfortunately true.

Check out this video to see PETA BS:

Any man crusading for PETA has already been neutered.

Usually by a PETA woman who believes human babies are the bane of Earth.

Your hearts in the right place, but this is one of those Darwinian flukes that pretty much solve themselves.

Be nice to the lemmings.

I agree PETA members shouldn't be able to reproduce . As far as PETA being for spay/neuter, their not. PETA is all for kill animals, & taking our pet ownership away.

I challenge you to work a week or two for an animal shelter, see the abandoned, sick, starved, diseased, abused animals that they deal with every day, animals that were once "cute" puppies or kittens that people gave away because their unspayed female found an unneutered male despite all their "precautions", who have outgrown their "cuteness" and become nuisances ("give away" animals are more often targets for abuse than "purchased" animals), or the liters of kittens and puppies that they can't find homes for and must euthanize.....try it, and I guarantee that you would have a different opinion....unless, of course, you are heartless.
