My wife has repeatedly told me that she intends to kill me. She suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder. If I leave her,she will almost certainly receive custody of the children; in effect I will be abandoning my children to her wrath,which BPDs redirect to offspring in the absence of the mate. If I stay she may very well carry out her various threats,none of which was made in the presence of witnesses. And she would get off on mental health grounds. A few years in a supportive living program,probably. I'm not only trapped in an abusive relationship,I'm risking my life every time I'm in the house. I currently sleep in the attic behind a very heavily locked and fortified door. Under the laws of my state,there is no way without witnesses I can do anything in the way of commitment. She has to kill me first. Then I will be believed - posthumously.

"I was going to do that...you just didn't give me time."...said after I haul the heavy garbage can to the road for the upteenth time..or weed eat around the house..or move heavy boxes to the shed....
