People have always tried to "kiss up" to authority figures in order to hope the "authority" will not notice that they (the kiss ups) are being hateful or not doing their jobs. -

What is the difference? Those that "kiss up" to their boss, or those that try and kiss up to God and Jesus?

edit: Jesus never told us to "worship" God; and Jesus certainly rebuked those who wanted to worship him (Jesus).

And Jesus never said that "by grace are you saved" - that was Paul who said that. .

Jesus gave us about 30 ways of getting to Heaven, and all of them related to us getting along with each other. --

Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God*

*However we define God, or our neighbor, or ourselves.

sorry for rambling.

Because if you love God and Jesus, you would want to obey His rules.

No, I don't know any Christians who do that. Most Christians follow God's teachings.

If true Christians do not ignore the teachings of the bible, I have met very few here. Isn't it funny how people say they are true Christians, but really aren't?

You know the answer to that as well as I do.

being A Christian is not about following rules.

it is about a relationship. and out of that relationship, come walking in love.

you have done that as long as I have known you.

Jesus Gave another commandment, and said that all of the commandments were covered by this one.

I don't believe morals come from a book of rules.... I believe it's something inside us. I also believe God will judge a person by their heart rather than their beliefs.

No, that is how you show you really do love HIm by doing what he says:
John 14:15
“If you love Me, keep My commandments."

John 14:21
He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

Because us atheists like to live (or die as it may be) on the edge.
