Free for all. Should I cuss them out? Yell? Scream? What do you guys do? I mean, these people have called me 5 times in the past half hour and I've had enough. Ideas?

There is a national "do not call" list you can get on. It takes a couple months to go completely through, but then the calls stop. Unless of course you do business with them already (like your phone company). I do not remember the link for it, but if you do a quick search it should come right up.

Try not to cuss or yell, most of them are doing their job. But if they are calling just after you said not to, they need to be spoken to. In fact, if you do those things, it will get worse.
I personally tried everything I knew to get rid of them, the no-call list is the only thing that worked. They do not call me.anymore.
Meanwhile take the call, and explain that this is the 6th call from them in just over a half hour, that you never buy anything over the phone, and will not start now, no matter how many times they call, and that you do not respond to terrorist tactics, the product is one you will now never purchase, ever. And please stop calling. And go right now and find the no-call site, and register!

Here is what I do and it may take a couple calls but they will remember the number eventually.

When I get these type calls I don't want, solicitors and such, I let them ask for their party and then I say I minute, and I lay the phone on the table and walk away. I do for as many times as they call.

No one ever picks it back up, they get tired hang it up and its their bill if they want to keep wasting their time rather than mine. They stop and you never have to say a word past the first time you ask them not to call.

Personally I don't see why they would continue to call and make the added expense when its obvious after annoying someone they are not likely to make a purchase. Its quite senseless on their end.

5 times in a 1/2 hour from the same company? That is harassment. Tell them to put you on their do not call list and then go to donotcall.gov and put yourself on the do not call list. It stops about 90% of sales amd telemarketing calls. You need to renew every five years

Pretend to have a thick foreign accent. You know how salespeople speak really really fast? After they are done with their little spiel, say "Sorry, my English is not so good. Could you please repeat? SLOWLY? " They sure will, and they will speak just as fast. You have to have the patience and listen to the end, and repeat the whole damn things again "Sorry... mY English is not so good..." I guarantee they will give up on you.

Other option is to ask their home phone number and promice to call them back. They will tell you "we don't give out our home phone numbers". Tell them that you didn't give out yours yet they are calling you AT HOME! So you insist that they give you their home phone number! They will decide that you're a maniac and live you alone.

I HATE them......... I'm polite the first time, but when they get on my nerves I really just tell them with a VERY cold voice: "listen, I've told all of the other ppl who have already called me from your company that I AM NOT INTERESTED, please don't call me anymore"..... and if they keep up with their rant I just hang up the phone.... I've already been nice after all, but if it doesn't work you gotta try something else. Sometimes those nasty salesppl have even called me AT MY JOB and have had the nerve to ask me to "transfer them to someone else who might be interested".....!!!!!!!! I just tell them "sure, one moment" and hang the phone.... oops, sorry, wrong button!!! LOL

When they call and start talking cut them off right there. I am sorry to be rude but people keep calling me, I am not interested. Also, go to donotcall.org and put your number on the do not call list. That is a legal way to make them stop calling you.

If you are in America, register at: www.donotcall.gov/

Once you sign up, telemarketing companies are forbidden to call you (ever) during the years that it's in effect. That does not include, however, companies that you already do business with; they can call you. However, you have the right to tell them to put your name on their "Do Not Call List" and they must respect your request.

Good luck and enjoy your peace and quiet!

Go over to ask.com and find out the toll free phone # to get your name off the telemarketers calling list. It's free to sign up and they can't call you for 5 years. There's also a toll free # so they can't call your cell phone.

its up to you to follow through
and the same sales person calls you five times in a row? that is highly unusual are you sure its not a bill collector?
