If you are on your period there could be blood mixing with the urine, accounting for the extra protein.

Otherwise, it's probably a kidney thing. Your kidneys maintain the fluid balance in your body and help get rid of unwanted soluble chemicals.

Healthy people pass some protein in urine. But if you have too much, then it could mean that there is damage to your kidney or kidney inflammation. It could also be blood from the kidney or somewhere else along the urinary tract.

Your doctor should be able to help.

It could be a kidney or bladder infection. I have had protein in my urine on several occasions when I had a bladder infection. It could also be kidney stones, but you didn't mention any pain. I also had protein in my urine with the stones. Protein is usually blood in the urine. I suggest you see a doctor as it could be something more serious then above mentioned.

i'm sorry but it means that there is a problem with the kidneys (may be kidney failure depends on the severity). you will need tests to confirm that.
but don't forget that it may be high if you had a lot of protein before you had the test done.
please go to a doctor and do he tests to make sure that everything is fine.

it all depends on how much protein is being lost in the urine.
