Well I am a professional pet groomer, so hopefully I can help. What you especially need to do is play with puppies feet and face and let them get used to you touching it. If your dog has hair like the poodle then you will deffinately need to keep the hair away from his/her eyes, by playing, rubbing in these areas first the dog is less likely to be scared of your clippers. the best animal clippers to use is Andis (a bit expensive but they will last you a long time) I don't recomend grooming at home because you need to know what you are doing. Especially with clippers in hand. It is very easy to nick or cut your puppy if you are not extemely careful. If you have to groom at home then you can ask me for more tips and I will let you know. If in fact is going to have poodle like or a combination of the two hair coats you will need to use a slicker brush at least twice a week to prevent coat from matting. A medium course metal comb for going through after you brush to find anything that the brush missed is great. You need to trim the toe nails at least every 4 to 6 weeks to keep nice and short to prevent back problems, otherwise the quick of the nail will continue to grow as the nail does, and will make it harder to keep short. Be careful not to cut into the quick they will bleed and your puppy will likely give you a difficult time on trimming them the next time. Feel free to e-mail me back on anything or if you have anymore questions.

when i first started grooming my poodles i went and watched how the groomers went about it. after a few times i started doing it my self.take your time and use a small pair of barber sciccors.snip the hair and take a little at a time until it is at the length you want it. becarefull around the eyes and private parts.just lay the sciccors along the fur and snip .pull the hair out of the ears with your fingers and trim the nails taking off the top curve and watch out for the quick or the nail will bleed if cut to short. your best bet is go to the library and get a book on dog grooming or a pet store where is lots of info. try a web page too or do as i did go watch a pro clip the dog.after a few times grooming your dogs it will become a regular routine. most dog clippers come with a book and video . i find clippers burn the dogs skin but they work well for their faces and inbetween the pads. hope you can find some infomation good luck.

This is simple I used to have a puppy that age now she is 10 months anyway all you need to do is brush them with any kind of brush. When you bathe your dog just shampoo and condition all over his body except in his-her ears or his-her face.GOOD LUCK

the grooming can be done what ever you want
You can shave it, you can scissor it or just do a light scissor trim. there is no set style.
they are very sweet dogs.
they should be socialized as they can become more of a fear biter. they are very protective
