Having coffee is a great way to get to know someone well, because it's not distracting, like a movie. Go to lunch, dinner, on a scenic walk, to an amusement park. It depends on what you like doing, and also what she likes. Provide some of the ideas you like off of Y!A and ask her if she has ideas.

At 17, this is a big age difference. Take it slowly. Find out if you have any mutual interests. If she hates football, you don't want to take her to a football game. If you hate movies, don't go there.
Try to do something you both enjoy. Going out to eat is good.
We all like to eat. It also gives you the chance to get to know each other.
Go somewhere not to casual like McDonalds or too fancy like the Russian Tea Room.
Hopefully it will not be too noisy, then you can hear each other.

No movie. Dinner or a walk or miniature golf. have a conversation while doing something fun. It's no fun sitting next to a person you hardly know for 3 hours while watching a movie. Bowling is kinda fun. Pick something that you can teach her.

Tke her to a great movie. Than go out for ice cream. Then go to an arcade or something thats fun. Remember to respect her and live a little!
