Absolutely. You just stop caring about things, and you're not shy at all so typically everything they've been holding back spills out like floodgates. It is POSSIBLE for them to lie while drunk, just not likely unless it is in their core character to lie; because they just stop caring. So they don't care about the consequences of lying, either. Though this is usually NOT the case.

For the most part. They are loss in control and tend to care less about what others think. Generally people lie because they want to hide something but when people are drunk, they care less about others around them.

They are less inhibited so things they might think twice about, they will just 'let it rip' when they are under the influence.

ha ha I think they want to tell someone off or flirt so they get drunk in order to blame the truth of themselves and what they have to say on the alcohol. I guess they think it will get them out of trouble by saying, "Oh, I was drunk". Mmm

Yes, I think it is true to an extent. Alcohol lowers inhibition which makes it harder to lie. It also proves that sometimes it is better to lie, as many people regret the truths they've told under the influence.

No, they are just less inhibited about things, and many exhibit more candor than usual, but they are just as capable of telling lies while drunk...
