I have to do a project, and I need to know which southern state has military. I think it's either California, or something else. Any help?

California is not a "Southern State"

Probably either North Carolina ( Fort Bragg.....largest govenment owned military base in America....148,609 acres)
or......Georgia (Fort Benning.....Home of the Infantry)

California is not a southern state, however it has a great deal of military, up and down the state. The Navy and the Marine Corps are both well represented in California, probably more so than the Army.

On the East coast all the states along the coast are pretty heavy with military installations, particularly Virginia, the Carolina's, and Florida. Now those are considered southern states.

Let me see, a southern state that has military and you pick California. You need to brush up on geography first of all.

I would chose North Carolina. Because of Ft Bragg, and the air force bases that support the airborne units there.

Do you mean enlistment into the military, or military bases? Besides California is not a Southern State!

Virginia, easily. Off hand I can think of the Navy bases in Norfolk, Little Creek, and Oceana, as well as army Fort Lee, Fort Monroe, Fort Eustis, and Fort Story, and that is not even half of the military installations there. The Norfolk/VA Beach area has the largest concentration of US military in the world.

Of all the states in the South, Virginia has the most military installations which represent all branches of the armed forces.

Texas would be my guess, Fort Hood is huge and there is also a fort in El Paso, I forget the name. Fort Sill is in Oklahoma, not Texas.

Texas by a long shot. Fort Hood and Fort Sill are huge, and then theres Fort Sam Huston. Seems like I'm missing some, but those alone are more than enough.

I'm thinking maybe Georgia. Ft. Benning, Hunter Army Airfield, Ft. Stewart.
