Illegal immigration makes it a lot more difficult for those who try to immigrate legally (or even those who don't necesarily want to immigrate but just live and work in the US for a few years). They break the law and provoke negative feelings towards ALL immigrants, including those who comply with all the rules and pay little fortunes to remain in their legal status.
The reaction of the immigration services has not been very efficient or effective. For a long time they did nothing. Then they started imposing more restrictions and making it more and more difficult to immigrate legally. In the mean time illegal immigrants keep flowing in like Hurricane Katrina. There's something wrong with the levees!

Yes. And quite frankly I don't get it. Why the people who are coming legally, doing everything possible to stay and become legal citizens, and wanting to bring their families as well... are the ones who end up getting pushed aside for the illegals. We do have to draw a line as to which family members they should be allowed to bring though. Example their wife and children.
This family chain immigration thing is also an issue I have to take a stance against. Just as we have to change the Cuban agreement to stop those illegals from getting automatic refugee status the moment they set foot on American soil. Our government has pandered to them long enough. And it's time to roll up the welcome mat for the illegals.
Fine employers heavily for hiring them, and enforce our laws on the books to the fullest.

Of course it does. We determine how we feel about immigration limits and family reunification, etc based on how many are here competing for jobs and using services. If they come illegally, we won't let more come legally. We have restricted legal immigration already in response to illegal immigration overstressing our resources and are in the process of doing it again.

You better believe it does! The folks trying to follow the rules and enter the U.S. legally should be at the front of the line to push the illegal selfish slobs back to where they came from. Legal applicants have a right to expect that their applications will be seen in a timely maner, but because the illegal clog our systems, they usually take a back seat to the illegals. NOT FAIR. You apply legally, you should be FIRST.

Absolutely. It fuels the resentment of nativists, for instance. And, if you think illegals take jobs away from citizens, immagine the effect they have on the job market for legal immigrants.

yes. Being american is not just being in america. When you see an immigrant get their status and learn the language and they are sworn in, you see the pride and the true meaning of what it is that makes america great. It's what all of our families did generations ago.

i am sure about something and that would be that cases which should be resolved by now would have had speed up if a legislation had passed granting those already here a way to get a legal status . so in my opinion is not the undocumented but the till now empty promises which bush made of making sure the process would be faster , of course the responsibility also falls in those who make the laws and make so difficult to do so the right way , remember u are dealing with bureaucrats but of course some people will find easier to blame the undocumented than those who do not help them by speeding up their immigrations process , in my opinion it is foolish u could accomplish a lot more by attacking those who don't make what u want easier to accomplish . if u being a citizens find it difficult now imagine those who do not have family here and want to immigrate , in my opinion the best thing that could happen to those who are already in the process would be seeing a legalization being enacted since they would have to hire alot more than what they have today .
bureaucrats make the process difficult , will attacking the undocumented help ??? NO it will only give them an excuse to keep slacking , of course some seem pretty fine with that by actually blaming the undocumented and not those who should be speeding things up .

Yes, I do. I think that those who truly want to be here should be here instead of the biggest population of illegal ingrates in history! Make them come legally or not at all.
